Kathleen Grimbly poses in Bellingham Bay at Marine Park on August 15, 2011. Grimbly teaches yoga classes for kayakers utilizing stretches both on land and in the water. She started practicing yoga after suffering from four rear-end collision car accidents. “Yoga became therapeutic, but also a counterbalance in my life,” Grimbly said.
Last week I was on assignment for The Bellingham Herald. Covering daily assignments and the local fair was good change of pace. Here is a portrait I shot of Kathleen Grimbly. She teaches yoga techniques that are useful for kayakers both in and out of the water.

Here are some shots from a maternity shoot I did for mother to be Tracey. She wanted to create a couple of thank you cards for friends and family that threw her a baby shower. It was Tracey’s idea to use some paint and decorate her belly. The color and the light was ideal. I used a shoot through-umbrella and the sun as a backlight, with some of the shots just using natural. I was pretty happy about the simple setup and for an energetic subject like Tracey. She is due towards the end of June. Congrats!

Merry Christmas! Sorry, for the lack of updates. Janette and I are getting our lives back together after months of traveling. We currently are located in good ol’ Seattle next to Green Lake. It’s beautiful! More on that later. For now I will leave you with some visual candy ;) My cousin Erik wanted to make some sexy Christmas cards and asked me to offer my services. I like doing fun portraits with a simple concept and basic lighting so I was more than willing to help him out. Enjoy what’s left of the holidays and finish those leftovers!

Here are the last of the series. These are athletes who stood out in multiple sports throughout the year.
