Tony and Andy in Plain, Washington.

The boys and I at Emerald have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks so it was time to for a getaway. We were graciously hosted by our buddy, Andy, in Plain, Washington. It was nice to be in a different environment despite my weakness to cold weather. The weekend went by quick but the snow, brews, and change of scenery did us good!

This natural wonder in Kauai is one of the easiest to get to with a big reward. It is a short walk over a lava shelf and you find yourself in a naturally occurring pool of water at the shore. The water is crystal clear with some sweet snorkeling.

I am currently doing an internship with Western’s University of Communications as a campus photographer. We finally had some nice weather and I found a hula-hooper down at the park. A great past time long forgotten, I’m pretty sure it’s making a comeback.

After about a month of craptastic weather we finally caught a break. I ventured off to Blanchard Mountain and saw these paragliders flying through the air (of course I neglected to bring my long glass). It was amazing to see these guys soaring through the sky like birds. Catching air currents to gain altitude as they dipped up and down from the earth. Apparently you can spend all day in the sky if the weather permitted. I did not realize that they actually take off and land on the mountain. I shot a couple of frames of Bellingham native Roger Brock, just after he touched down on the mountain. Hopefully I’ll get to photograph him again in the future. Click on for more Continue reading
I decided to enjoy the weather this past weekend.
