Winter Getaway

CabinWinter121512

The boys and I at Emerald have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks so it was time to for a getaway. We were graciously hosted by our buddy, Andy, in Plain, Washington. It was nice to be in a different environment despite my weakness to cold weather. The weekend went by quick but the snow, brews, and change of scenery did us good!

Salon de DASSdance

I was asked by a friend to photograph Salon de DASSdance an event where I enjoyed an evening of live music, fine art, dance performances by DASSdance and the Can Can Castaways, a bar and free food. What more can a young boy ask for! Here are some shots from the amazing dance performances. The Salon is held the first Monday of the month at Washington Hall in the Central District. Come to the next one and buy me a drink!

Devo at the Redhook Brewery

I photographed Devo at the Redhook Brewery 30th Anniversary for Mutineer Magazine. They put on a great show despite the downpour. Here are a select few from the concert and a link to the rest of the images on my archive.

Northwest Washington Fair

My main reason for being on assignment for The Bellingham Herald was to help cover the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden. I had the opportunity to cover the rides. I got to ride for free! Every boys dream. The kid inside me was jumping for joy until I rode the Gravitron and was nauseous for three hours. The deep fried Twinkies didn’t sound too appetizing after that. Here is an edit from my time there, enjoy!

Kathleen Grimbly

Kathleen Grimbly poses in Bellingham Bay at Marine Park on August 15, 2011. Grimbly teaches yoga classes for kayakers utilizing stretches both on land and in the water. She started practicing yoga after suffering from four rear-end collision car accidents. “Yoga became therapeutic, but also a counterbalance in my life,” Grimbly said.

Last week I was on assignment for The Bellingham Herald. Covering daily assignments and the local fair was good change of pace. Here is a portrait I shot of Kathleen Grimbly. She teaches yoga techniques that are useful for kayakers both in and out of the water.

Kristina and David

My sister just got married last weekend. It was a great ceremony and I’m happy for the both of them. My buddy Rhys Logan photographed their wedding, cheers to him for hustling and accommodating my huge family! Here are their engagement photos I did for them at Seattle’s Gasworks Park.
