Property

I got a week of summer vacation before starting at the Skagit Valley Herald. I spent some of that time across the mountains. My friend and roommate, Andy Jaeger, invited us to his family’s property along the Wenatchee River. It was a great place to relax and do nothing for awhile. By nothing I mean drink beer and work on my “tan”. Woodland adventures and sleeping under the stars are exactly what I needed! I can’t wait to spend more time there. Happy Father’s Day! Our advanced visual journalism class went on a class field trip to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island this weekend. The assignment was to gather multimedia from an outdoor sculpture park on the island. I was with a great group and the actually traveling was the best part. It has been awhile since I got to ride a ferry. They are quite magical. Here are some random fun photos of the trip. Death Cab for Cutie

DeathCab_17DeathCab_08 Death Cab for Cutie played a Western student exclusive show at Mount Baker Theatre last week. I was asked to photograph the show for the school. Overall an amazing show, despite the incompetent staff at Mount Baker Theatre. Seriously, if you are going to give out press passes then they should have some authority as to where you can go. I had four different tickets to let me in and out of particular areas, painful to say the least. Always be early. End rant. Click on for more. Continue reading

Hoopin

I am currently doing an internship with Western’s University of Communications as a campus photographer. We finally had some nice weather and I found a hula-hooper down at the park. A great past time long forgotten,  I’m pretty sure it’s making a comeback.
