Close to 1,000 protestors march through downtown Cancun, Mexico during La Via Campesina’s Global Day of Action for Climate Justice in the second week of the 16th Conference of the Parties, on December 7, 2010. The march was organized by La Via Campesina International to protest the rights of indigenous peoples and farmers throughout the world. The organization believes programs that are being discussed at COP16 like REDD and carbon market initiatives are being imposed on peoples as false solutions to climate change.
