I covered tattoo removal in Olympia for a Klipsun story last month. A program called Ink Out focused on gang related tattoo removal. The program worked mainly with teenagers and young adults looking to change their lives. I met Aurora Ortiz a young teenage girl looking to remove a South Siders tattoo on her forearm.

I just got back from Mexico a few days ago. Our flight got cancelled and we couldn’t get out of California until Christmas Eve. Here is a slideshow of some of my images from the Mexican Riviera. Just click on the image.

During my internship I worked on a story that started with Muay Thai Kickboxing at Total Confidence Martial Arts. I found an interesting fighter who was a nurse that worked a graveyard shift at a nursing home. I put time after hours photographing her training.
When it came to her fight day at the Battle in Bellingham, her opponent was a no show (yippee..) I scrambled and found a fighter from the same gym, by the name of Darren Benson. To my surprise it ended up to be the Blaine Middle School principal.
I shot it in March and they decided to hold the story until now. Here is the final product that turned into an audioslideshow and the story.
