First day of shooting

These are the photos I shot today at SSAVI. We got to photograph John Drake a wrestler at Cal State. I had a hard time conceptualizing what I wanted to do. Hopefully I’ll have better luck tomorrow at the track meet. It’s late and I sucked  today so I’m not writing anymore.

Tattoo removal

I covered tattoo removal in Olympia for a Klipsun story last month. A program called Ink Out focused on gang related tattoo removal. The program worked mainly with teenagers and young adults looking to change their lives. I met Aurora Ortiz a young teenage girl looking to remove a South Siders tattoo on her forearm. [...]

Hoopin

I am currently doing an internship with Western’s University of Communications as a campus photographer. We finally had some nice weather and I found a hula-hooper down at the park. A great past time long forgotten,  I’m pretty sure it’s making a comeback. -Mark

A Savage time

I went on a date to watch Dan Savage, of The Stranger, speak on Western’s campus last night. He is an interesting individual, hilarious and insightful. I highly suggest to read his sex advice column Strange Love. Here are a few frames I fired from my seat (yeah I’m a good date). -Mark
