The principle of kickboxing

During my internship I worked on a story that started with Muay Thai Kickboxing at Total Confidence Martial Arts. I found an interesting fighter who was a nurse that worked a graveyard shift at a nursing home. I put time after hours photographing her training.

When it came to her fight day at the Battle in Bellingham, her opponent was a no show (yippee..) I scrambled and found a fighter from the same gym, by the name of Darren Benson. To my surprise it ended up to be the Blaine Middle School principal.

I shot it in March and they decided to hold the story until now. Here is the final product that turned into an audioslideshow and the story.

New School Year. New Blog.

Hello, and welcome to my new blog! My good friend and webmaster Andy Jaeger helped me set this up, so cheers to him. I’ve been working on plenty of stuff this past year and I’ll be updating my blog accordingly.

I was shooting Muay Thai at the Sportsplex this weekend and had some downtime (like 3 hours). I decided to go across the way and meet up with some friends and fellow photogs, and shoot the Vikings football game. I wasn’t on deadline or shooting for any publication, so I messed around and decided to shoot some features.

Keep checking back for updates and I hope you are enjoying the last gasp of summer as it slowly dies away in good ol’ Bellingham.
